Fear is an
emotional and physiological behavioural response to a threat – part of a natural
defence mechanism for ensuring survival. Fear is a learned response and many of
us learn to fear things that are not actually a threat to our survival e.g. fear
of spiders, fear of flying, fear of crowds, fear of closed spaces,
etc.
Phobias are very
common. One out of every 8 people suffers from some sort of phobia. Phobia is an
irrational fear of and wish to avoid a specific object, activity or
situation.
This fear is
sometimes blown out of proportion to the real danger, which the person
recognises as exaggeration.
The person finds
difficult to control fear and will attempt to avoid the object or
situation.
In the medical
dictionary, there are 289 recognised phobias and equally same number goes
unnoticed.
The symptoms are usually associated with phobias are expressed as
:
“butterflies in the stomach”,
“clammy hands and sweating”,
“high pulse rate and anxiety”.
Phobia can aptly be defined as “fear of fear".
Some common examples are :
claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces),
xenophobia (fear of strangers) etc.
Hypnotherapy can actually help you eliminate the root cause of all
fears and phobias. Most of my clients are very receptive to hypnotherapy and we
work together to completely erase the fear or phobia in very few
sessions.
If you are
suffering from any fear or phobia, it must be naturally hampering your normal
life. So why wait another day?
Cure is just a
phone call away….
